Every parent wants their child to do & have more than they did. No amount of success will make us as respected as this man.

Kirk Held was born and raised in Fremont Ohio. He was a welder by profession and his passion and skill showed in everything he built. There are many items in and around Fremont built by Dad that will still be around long after we’re all gone! Just like it says on the back of every bottle of this dry rub - He raised a family with heart, dedication, and American steel. Because that's the truth.

People often ask, "What does Dad's Wings taste like?" I can't answer that. I am the one who formulated the spices dad used to place on wings individually into one bottle to taste the same as what he made. I still cannot answer that question. It isn't like anything else. Why is this in the "About Kirk Held" section? Because I can tell you this: The entrance dad came home through was into our basement. I always knew when he was home. Because there was soap stone for marking metal, maybe a temperature stick for welding, & some change on the counter. Some trashed out jeans and a flannel shirt that still smelled like steel were in front of the washer. He had battle torn hands and dried blood down his arms before he got in the shower. He was a big bearded tattooed biker guy. But his tattoos were his wife and children's names. He looked and sounded like someone to fear. But he was someone I, and so many others - respected. And still do. When he spoke, you listened. At first, it was the commanding voice. But when you listened to what he said - you realized he spoke wisdom. And love. And when he pulled something off the grill or out of the oven - you ate it. Because you knew it was going to be amazing. Especially if it was something he'd recently shot.

What does that have to do with the taste of Dad's Wings? If any of that description of Kirk made you uncomfortable - This dry rub will probably offend you. If my description of him made you smile - You'll put it on and in everything like so many others!
